Scattered Little Stardusted One

Waiting for

night to break

out in the open

the silence was

To me,

dust and smoke,

she sang

a familiar refrain

“Little girl

little girl

you were just in

the way…

you’ll never be

never be

enough to stay…

For a day

you dreamed

you were a pearl

but you know

better than to

believe nice lies

when you are

the joke…

they tease you with

peroxide made

They haunt your

warm and wanting

So keep on coloring

your band-aids

until you break

and begin again…

Scattered Little
